Jan reinicke

President

Education: Bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa and Master’s degree in Speech and Communications from the University of Cincinnati.

Work: 28 years with the Iowa State Education Association, including 14 years as Government Relations Director and 10 years as Executive Director. Retired in 2008.

Other: Six years on the Delta Dental of Iowa board with experience on governance, accounting and executive committees. Currently on the Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation board as Vice-Chair. Also currently president of the Iowa Safe Schools organization.

JIM TIBBLES

Vice President

Education: Raised near St. Louis, graduated from Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville.

Work: After graduation, public accounting in Des Moines for four years. Moved to Perry in 1983 to work at Osmundson Mfg. Co. Retired from full-time work at Osmundson at end of 2018, currently works as a consultant.

Other: Owned property at Lake Panorama since 2012, he and his wife Julie transitioned to full-time lake residents in 2014. Avid golfer, enjoys pontoon rides and chasing grandchildren.

JOHN MUENZENBERGER

Secretary - Treasurer

Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.

Work: 40-year career in production agriculture. The last 28 years with Pioneer Hi-Bred International in Johnston with global program leadership responsibilities for Pioneer’s oilseed portfolio (canola, sunflower and soybean).

Other: Enjoys traveling and outdoor activities. Member of Panora Lions Club.

GALEN JOHNSON

Education: Earned bachelor’s and master’s of science in engineering degrees at Wayne State College; US Army Command & General Staff College, Army War College.

Work: Teacher and School Administrator, Des Moines Public Schools 1970–2000; Director, Midwest Region for the College Board 2000-2004; Midwest Region Director and Assistant Vice President for ACT 2004-2016; Retired Officer, US Army (Reserve).

Other: Distinguished Graduate Award Nebraska Military Academy; Outstanding Teacher Award University of Chicago: Honor Teacher Award National Aeronautics and Space Administration/NSTA; Two-time recipient Presidential Award for Math and Science Teaching for Iowa.

jody muench

Education: Grand Community High School, Boxholm, Iowa.

Work: Retired from McFarland Clinic after 27 years in the business office. Prior to that, secretary at Rueter’s Equipment for 11 years. Owned and operated The Douglass House Tearoom & Gift Shoppe in Boone for nine years. Partner in family farm operation near Ogden for 42 years.

Other: In 2003, designed the Guthrie County afghan that features many items of interest from all towns in the county. Active in the Panora Garden Club, WSO, and St. Thomas Lutheran Church, and enjoys organizing fundraisers for all. 

JACKIE WELLIK

Education: Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology, both from California State University, Fullerton.

Work: Retired in 2018 after 32 years in the human resources field, in various industries including utility, automotive, engineering and tech start-up. From 2005 until retirement, Western Digital Corporation executive vice president and chief human resources officer, San Jose, California.

Other: Served on the Orange County United Way board, and the Human Resources Leadership Council of Los Angeles; Taught at Pepperdine University. She and her husband Kevin spend winters in Orange County. Loves boating, golfing, working out and spending time with her granddaughter.

BILL WINKLEBLACK

Education: Rolfe Community High School, Rolfe, Iowa.

Work: 35 years at the Rolfe State Bank, serving as president his last 13 years before retirement. Maintained real estate and insurance licenses, managing those services within the bank, as well as its farm management services.

Other: Organizing member and president/officer for 501(c)3 nonprofits, including Pocahontas County Foundation, Pocahontas Community Hospital Foundation, Pocahontas Area Community School Foundation, and Rolfe Enrichment. Also organizing member and president of Pocahontas County Economic Development, and Rolfe Betterment, Inc. He and his wife Jeanette moved to Lake Panorama in 2019. Enjoys time with family, carpentry, yard and landscaping projects.

Executive Director

Susan Thompson

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Iowa State University.

Work: Retired in 2010 after 15 years in communications for Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Prior to that, 15 years as News Services Director for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation; radio station news director; and newspaper editor. Currently an independent communications consultant and freelance writer.

Other: Six years on the Lake Panorama Association Board of Directors; guided $225,000 fundraising campaign for new building and restrooms at Lake Panorama National Golf Resort; wrote the book Lake Panorama – The First 50 Years, published in 2019.
