Boulder & Shady Beaches Playground Project

The $70,000 goal set by Friends of Lake Panorama to provide new play equipment at both Shady and Boulder beaches was reached in late October 2020. Fundraising kicked off just a year earlier, and had strong support from donors throughout the last 12 months.

The 2020 Beach Ball, which raised about $30,000, provided a big boost. Additional donations the last two months of 2020 made it possible to add one bench and a second spring rider to the Boulder Beach playground equipment.

The equipment for Shady Beach was installed the third week in October 2020. Included is a multi-faceted play set, three swings and a two-seater bumblebee spring rider.

The Boulder Beach play equipment was ordered in January 2021 and installed in April. Two larger pieces in the existing playground remain, and have been joined by two spring riders—a two-seater bumblebee and a single-seat frog. A new playground footprint to the south includes three swings, a multi-faceted play set that features two slides, the Big Kahuna fish climber, and several other pieces of climbing equipment geared to older kids.
